Dr. Joshua Mutambi, the Commissioner for Processing and Marketing at the Ministry of Trade and Cooperatives, has expressed concerns about the misuse of cooperative funds by some leaders. He criticized cooperative managers who have misappropriated members' savings, leading to the downfall of many cooperatives and discouraging others from joining. Dr. Mutambi made these remarks during the 2nd graduation ceremony of the Makerere Institute of Commerce and Vocational Studies in Ishaka, where 127 graduates were awarded certificates and diplomas.

During the event, Franklin Katungwe, the Deputy Head of Missions in Brussels, Belgium, urged parents to prioritize their children's education, emphasizing its importance for future development.
Evans Burora, the Institute’s Director, encouraged the graduates to work diligently and serve as proud ambassadors of the institution.
Robert Atuhairwe, the Bushenyi District Resident Commissioner, advised the graduates to focus on creating jobs rather than seeking them, highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship in today's job market.
