The USSSA Ankole Zone will be represented by four schools at the upcoming Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games, scheduled to take place in Kakamega, Kenya from August 12 to 24. The schools—Ntare School, Mbarara High School, St. Elizabeth Girls, and Boni Consilii Girls Isingiro—qualified through different sports disciplines during the national school games.

Mbarara High Rugby in white is among the respresentatives

Ntare School will field two teams in hockey and tennis, having won silver medals in both categories at the national games held in Bukedea in May. Mbarara High School, the national boys' hockey champions in Bukedea and silver medalists in rugby 7s at the recently concluded games in Tororo, will also field two teams.

Sacred Heart Mushanga’s girls’ hockey team earned a bronze medal in Bukedea, securing a slot for their maiden appearance at the FEASSA Games.

St Jerome Ndama boys volleyball team

St. Elizabeth Girls’ volleyball team will be making their fourth consecutive appearance at the regional games, having finished as runners-up to Bukedea Comprehensive in the girls' final in Tororo last week.

Boni Consilii Girls Isingiro booked their first-ever ticket to the regional competition after stunning favourites Kawempe Muslim 4–2 on penalties to win bronze in the national girls’ football championship in Bukedea in May.
"We are preparing for the competition, and being our first time, we know it won’t be easy. But we are working on both the mental and physical fitness of our players to take on the challenge. The good thing is most of our girls have played in high-level competitions, so we shall use that experience to make a good debut,” said Primus Ngabirano, team manager of Boni Consilii.

Kigezi High Lacrosse team

Apart from Ntare School, Mbarara High, and St. Elizabeth, who are regulars at this stage, Boni Consilii and Sacred Heart Mushanga will be debuting—making them clear underdogs.

In addition to the four Ankole schools, St. Jerome Ndama (boys’ volleyball) and Kigezi High School (boys’ lacrosse) from the Kigezi region will bring the total number of Western Region representatives to six schools at the FEASSA Games in Kenya.
