In a separate operation carried out on January 30, 2026, at about 6:00 p.m., Kampala Central Police Station (CPS), working with local leaders, conducted a disruptive crackdown codenamed “Fukuza Mafisadi.” The operation covered several areas, including Nakasero, Entebbe Road, Nasser Road, behind Church House, Railway Grounds, Punjani, the Electoral Commission area, and Mukwano.

Police said the operation targeted youths who loiter at identified black spots before engaging in criminal activities such as snatching mobile phones and handbags, as well as stealing vehicle parts from motorists and passengers caught in traffic congestion. A total of 100 suspects were arrested during the operation and are expected to be produced in court today, February 2, 2026.

Police have reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining intelligence-led and community-supported operations to ensure public safety and curb criminal activity across the Kampala Metropolitan Area.
