Lethal striker Seiri Arigumaho made a strong statement in his new Uganda Premier League chapter as he returned to his former home, Kakyeka Stadium, and salvaged a 1–1 draw for BUL FC against Mbarara City on Friday. Arigumaho, who joined the Jinja-based side just last month, was warmly applauded by fans as he stepped onto the pitch in BUL’s yellow and green jersey — a clear sign that he remains a fan favorite at Kakyeka despite his recent move. The forward repaid that respect with a moment of brilliance and heartbreak for his former team. He capitalized on a loose ball in the final third, beat the Mbarara City defense and the advancing goalkeeper, and gave BUL the lead. Out of respect, he did not celebrate the goal but instead raised his hands and clapped above his head in appreciation of the supporters.

Mbarara City quickly responded through Ian Amanya, one of their new signings from FUFA Big League side Kaaro Karungi. Amanya tapped in at the near post after BUL goalkeeper Tom Ikara—himself a former Mbarara City player—had parried a fierce shot from Henry Kitegenyi into his path.
With BUL head coach Abbey Kikomeko still serving a touchline ban and confined to operating behind the perimeter fence, assistant coach and goalkeeping trainer James Magara led the team from the dugout but had to settle for a draw.
Meanwhile, Mbarara City’s new tactician Simon Mugerwa will welcome the result as a positive step, especially against a side sitting third on the league table after three outings.
