Bushenyi – Iddi Bassajabalaba, the aspiring Member of Parliament for Bushenyi–Ishaka Municipality, has donated sacks of posho to 417 households in Ntugamo Ward, Nyakabirizi Division.
While delivering the food relief, Bassajabalaba said the donation was intended to support families whose gardens and plantations were destroyed by a hailstorm that hit the area in February 2025.
“The devastation caused by the hailstorm left many households without food. This donation is a gesture to help them get through these hard times,” he said.
Nyansio Biryomumaisho, the LC3 Chairperson of Nyakabirizi Division, expressed gratitude upon receiving the food aid. He noted that villages including Nshenga, Rwamukoto, and Rwakahuka in Ntugamo Ward were severely affected, with the hailstorm destroying crops and leaving residents food-insecure.
“We thank Mr. Bassajabalaba for his generous heart and timely intervention. Many families have been left with nothing to cook, and this support brings hope to our community,” Biryomumaisho remarked.
