WAKISO
The last time a school from Central Uganda, specifically Wakiso, Kampala, and Mukono districts, hosted a national schools sports event was in 1998 when Mukono hosted the National Secondary Schools Netball Championship.
Twenty-eight years later, history will be made in the same district as Seroma Christian High School hosts the first-ever Ball Games I, featuring 11 sports disciplines in which secondary school athletes will battle for podium finishes.
After months of preparations, the Mukono-based sporting institution has shown readiness ahead of the games, which will run from April 29 to May 9.

The Mukono school, which will co-host with Namilyango College, is in the final stages of fine-tuning the hosting facilities such as playing grounds and accommodation, which are now almost 98 percent complete.
"We are greatly thankful to the Ministry, USSSA, and the rest of the stakeholders for the support to host these games. As Seroma Christian High School, we are so excited and very ready to receive our visitors for the competition. We are ready for this first-of-its-kind event in our area since 1998, and we are very sure everyone will enjoy their stay here during the games," said Resident Director Ameria Kyambadde.
The readiness of the institution for the games was confirmed by USSSA CEO Chris Mugisha after the final preparation meeting on Thursday.
"We are very happy that everything agreed upon has been put in place, and we can confirm that Seroma is very ready for the games. All that remains is for the athletes to report for the competitions. We want to thank both Seroma, the main host, and Namilyango College, the co-host, for the great work in preparations," said Chris Mugisha.
