Morogoro, Tanzania
The 23rd edition of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games enters its fifth day of competition in Morogoro, Tanzania, with Ugandan teams battling for places in the semifinals.
Uganda's volleyball boys' champions, Namugongo Secondary and Vocational School, have already secured a semifinal berth after winning all three of their group matches. They completed a perfect run with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Tanzania's Kijunjumele. Uganda's silver medallists, Bukedea Comprehensive School, will join them if they win their third match on Tuesday.
In the girls' volleyball category, Bukedea Comprehensive suffered a setback and will finish second in their group after losing 3-2 to Kenya's Mwitito. Seroma also fought hard but fell 3-2 to Rwanda's Indangabulezi, while Uganda's bronze medallists, St Jerome, lost 3-2 to Tanzania's Kaliua. St Jerome will now need victories in their remaining two matches to keep their hopes alive.
