Police in Kagadi District are holding two men in connection with the suspected murder of their 95-year-old mother, Kabagenzi Angela, a resident of Matuntu A Village. Kabagenzi reportedly went missing from her home on the night of September 4, 2026. Her body was discovered the following morning, about 300 metres from her home in a sugarcane plantation, with the head missing.

Police were notified and responded to the scene with a sniffer dog. Investigators established a possible exit route through the thick sugarcane plantation before introducing police sniffer dog No. T/P 240 Marshal to the scene. The dog reportedly picked up a scent and tracked a trail to the home of Biija Peter, one of the deceased's sons, before proceeding to the home of Isingoma, another son.

The two men were subsequently arrested to assist police with investigations. During the operation, Isingoma allegedly led police officers and community members to a location where the deceased's head had reportedly been buried. The head was recovered from the location.

The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding Kabagenzi's death and the possible motive for the suspected murder. The allegations against the two suspects have not been tested in court.
