Wakiso District
Two men have been charged and remanded over a violent and unlawful eviction in Wakiso District following a joint investigation by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
The suspects — Kamya Kyeyune Francis and Lwanyaga Daudi — were on Monday arraigned before the Wakiso Chief Magistrate’s Court on multiple charges, including forcible entry, malicious damage to property, eviction of bona fide occupants without a court order, destruction of crops, and theft.
The pair joins three other suspects — Ssejjombwe Ibrahim, Kyeyune Allan, and Musoke Joseph — who were previously charged and remanded over the same incident.

According to the prosecution, between January and October 2025, the accused persons, together with others still at large, allegedly mobilised a gang armed with pangas and sticks and violently grabbed land located on Block 314, Plot 846, Busiro, Bukasa, in Wakiso District. The land belongs to Dr. Paul Biriibwa, who has lived on and managed the property for more than 20 years.
The group reportedly demolished several structures, including workers’ houses, animal shelters for cattle, goats and pigs, a perimeter wall, water tanks, solar systems, cameras, and a 40-foot container. They also destroyed coffee and banana plantations and cut down trees.

Investigations further revealed that the suspects had no documentation or evidence of ownership and had never occupied the land, contrary to their claims of being bibanja holders. Authorities say the complainants possess a valid land title issued in 2001. The prosecution maintains that the suspects carried out the destruction and eviction without any lawful court order.
The two were remanded until December 3, 2025, as investigations continue.
