Bushenyi - Greater Bushenyi Police have urged residents to work closely with them to ensure safety and security during the Easter holiday. In a message released on Holy Thursday, April 17, 2025, Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime emphasized the importance of community vigilance. He noted that police had increased manpower across all sub-counties to enable swift responses and encouraged residents to obtain the contact information of their local Officer-in-Charge.

“We need the community’s vigilance to ensure a safe and secure Easter celebration,” Tumusiime said. “To facilitate quick responses, we have deployed more personnel in all sub-counties and urge residents to keep in touch with their local officers.”

He added that police have increased patrols—both foot and vehicle-based—throughout the long weekend.
Tumusiime also advised residents to carry identification, avoid overloading vehicles, and secure their homes while attending church services. He highlighted livestock theft as a major concern during the holiday period.
“Be vigilant about monitoring your livestock, as thieves may target them during the Easter celebrations,” he added.
