The national women’s U20 team, the Queen Cranes, has intensified preparations ahead of their FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup qualifier against Namibia on Friday. The Sherly Botes–managed side conducted another intensive training session in Kampala today as they continue their quest to reach their first-ever global showpiece.
The Queen Cranes’ camp received a boost with an impromptu visit from FUFA 3rd Vice President, Hon. Nakiwala Kiyingi, who encouraged the players to work hard and aim for the World Cup stage.
Additionally, the team had a session on communication skills and visibility conducted by FUFA Communications Director, Hussein Masha.
The Queen Cranes will face Namibia on Friday, September 19, before traveling to Windhoek for the return leg on September 22.
The winner on aggregate will meet either Burundi or Zambia in the final qualification round scheduled for February next year, where Africa’s last slot for the tournament in Poland 2026 will be decided.
