Pastor Muwanga Edward, the Bishop of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Southwestern Uganda, has called on Christians to uphold spiritual holiness, love, and diligence as the foundation for stable families.
He delivered the message during the inauguration of the newly constructed Nyakasharu SDA Church in Buhera Central, Rubirizi District. Bishop Muwanga urged believers to build families grounded in trust and hard work, noting that Christians must actively combat poverty and domestic violence to strengthen their communities.

Condemnation of infidelity and violence
In a stern address, the Bishop condemned the rise in infidelity among couples, identifying young people, men, and women as common offenders. He warned that unfaithfulness has far–reaching consequences.
“Such acts have contributed to increasing cases of domestic violence, suicide, and mob justice,” Bishop Muwanga said.
He encouraged families to restore trust and collaborate to improve their household income and overall well-being. The Bishop applauded the Nyakasharu SDA congregation for their dedication to building the new worship center and encouraged continuous unity and support for future church development.
Church Leaders Emphasize Morals and Education
Church leaders reinforced the Bishop’s message by highlighting the importance of moral upbringing and education for the younger generation. Church Elder Lion Kwesiga Rosebel Akiki reminded believers that prosperity comes through prayer, hard work, and supporting church development. She urged youth to obey their parents and advised caregivers to invest in their children’s education to break cycles of poverty.
Local church leader, Pastor Kakuru Isaac, encouraged families to raise children in religious environments that promote discipline, godliness, and good morals—values he said build responsible citizenship.
