Ugandan TikTok creator Timothy Kayanja, popularly known as Jayden, has died at the age of 24 while receiving treatment at a hospital in India.
The death was announced on Tuesday morning by fellow TikToker Sheilah Price, prompting messages of condolence from fans and fellow content creators.
Jayden had travelled to India for a bone marrow transplant after a fundraising campaign was launched by Ugandans to raise money for his treatment.
He had been battling aplastic anaemia, a condition in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells.
Jayden underwent a bone marrow transplant in July 2026 and initially appeared to be responding well to treatment. His health, however, deteriorated in August, leading to his admission to the Intensive Care Unit, where he remained under medical care.
He became widely known in Uganda in late 2024 after a Christmas skit featuring his character went viral on social media. The name "Jayden" subsequently became a popular reference for spoilt or pampered city children.
His online popularity also saw him briefly venture into television journalism before he returned to content creation.
His death comes shortly after Ugandans had mobilised financial support to help him access specialised treatment in India.
Further details about his death and burial arrangements are expected to be communicated by his family.
