HOIMA - This afternoon, the Anti-Corruption Unit, in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), brought Musoga Robert before the Chief Magistrate's Court in Hoima on charges of forcible detainer.
Musoga allegedly forcefully occupied a 40-acre plot in Kikuube District from 2016 to 2024, defying several court judgments and warrants issued to restore the land to its rightful owner. Despite clear court orders permitting enforcement, Musoga reportedly continued to occupy the land unlawfully, disregarding the rights of the legitimate owner.
The court has remanded Musoga until November 7, 2024, pending further proceedings.
Community members and anti-corruption advocates have shown support for the authorities' efforts to address land-related corruption. Ocaki Dan, a citizen, praised the team’s dedication, stating, “Thank you for your relentless effort in combating corruption in our country. Many say corruption can’t be fought, but you continue to prove otherwise.”
The Anti-Corruption Unit and its partners emphasize their commitment to addressing land injustices and maintaining accountability in land matters.
