Sheema,The Senior Presidential Advisor on Manifesto Implementation, Professor Ephraim Kamuntu, has urged voters in Sheema South to reject leaders who deceive them with empty promises of service delivery.
Professor Kamuntu made the remarks today while addressing residents from four parishes — Kashenshero, Kitagata East, and Kitagata West in Kitagata Sub-county, and Kyarushakara Parish in Kitagata Town Council.
He emphasized that leaders must prioritize delivering essential services such as clean water, electricity, quality roads, and proper healthcare.
"Communities deserve leaders who fulfill their promises, not those who only appear during campaigns with lies," Kamuntu said.
He criticized some politicians for neglecting their responsibilities once elected, only to return during campaign seasons with money to buy votes.
"Some leaders fail to deliver services and then come back during campaigns with money to buy votes. That's betrayal," he stated.
Kamuntu urged residents not to accept bribes and challenged them to hold elected officials accountable.
"Don't allow yourselves to be bought. Always demand services, not handouts. You deserve clean water, electricity, good roads, and quality healthcare," he told the gathering.
During the meeting, residents raised key concerns, including the upgrade of Kitagata General Hospital to a regional referral hospital, and the extension of clean water and electricity to all villages in Sheema South. They stressed that such services are vital for improved living standards and sustainable development.
